When a young woman held captive by a trafficking gang is shot, she falls into a surreal journey through her subconscious as she battles for her life.

We were horrified to discover that there are an estimated 40 million victims of human trafficking in the world today. Inspired by the psychedelic films of the 70s, we wanted to create a story that spoke about this issue through powerful visual metaphor but was also anchored by meaningful dramatic narrative.

The Blood Bride is the love child of Hannah McKibbin & Caspar Leopard, a husband and wife team from London. They started working together when Leopard composed the score for McKibbin's first film, 'The Happy Genius', which won 'Best Score' at The 2018 Global Lift-Off Awards and received nominations for ‘Best Short’ film globally.

Hannah McKibbin - Writer/Director - cut her teeth working in film development at a number of London production companies such as the Oscar-nominated Wildgaze Films (Brooklyn, An Education) before taking a filmmaking course at University of Southern California, Los Angeles where she started to make her own films. As an ex-Olympic gymnast, Hannah has a love of making dance films but has turned her attention to drama in more recent years.

Caspar Leopard - Writer/Director/Composer - is an award-winning composer and filmmaker based at Baltic Studios, the popular East-London recording studio he set up in 2012 (recent artists include The Rolling Stones, Bjork, Jessie Ware and Liam Gallagher). Leopard recently composed a score for the BAFTA-nominated TV drama 'Through The Gates' and won 'Best Music Video' at the London International Motion Picture Awards (LIMPA) for his directorial solo debut 'Son of the Morning'. Caspar's most recent film ‘Is This Real?’ is a stop-motion animation collaboration with ex-Aardmann animator Stefano Cassini (Wallace & Gromit/Chicken Run/Tim Burton’s ‘Corpse Bride’) and is currently on the festival circuit, having premiered at Cinequest.

Humphrey Gibbs – Producer - has worked in film and television for over six years. After a year at Working Title, where he assisted on several features, he went on to work on Paddington Bear, the BBC's War and Peace, and most recently Channel 4's sci-fi series, Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams. He has also been involved in several short-form projects, including a drama he wrote, directed and produced in LA called Name Escapes Me.

Jesse Algranti - Producer - works in film and television and is co-founder of production company Walnut Pictures. He has most recently worked on Netflix show The Crown and has produced a slate of short films which include The Wow Factor, Bored Games and Boat Boy.
